Ponte Roma is a versatile double-knit fabric with a comfortable feel. As the name suggests, it was first produced in Italy and it's name translates as "Roman Bridge" due to the weave structure of the fabric resembling the bridges of classic Rome.
Ponte Roma is usually heavier and thicker than a single knit jersey as it is constructed from two layers of fabric knitted together as one. It has a slight ribbed appearance.
